Danielle has been volunteering at Second Harvest for two years, and is a genuine bright spot; always bringing her positivity and dedication. Check out our Q&A with Danielle!

What do you help with at Second Harvest?

I started out sorting and packing up food that was donated every other Friday.  Currently I volunteer every Friday and I assist with filing and running Free Fridays.

What is your favorite thing about volunteering at Second Harvest?

The people, everyone is very friendly and appreciative.  They made me feel like part of their team from the first day I step through the doors.

Do you volunteer other places within the community?

I do not, in order to volunteer at Second Harvest I elected to cut my work hours and only work part time at my day job to allow me to volunteer at Second Harvest on Fridays.

Do you have a “day job” and if so what do you do?

I do have a “day job”, I am a process architect for a technology company headquartered in Monroe Louisiana.  I analyze how things are done and create ways to be more efficient so time or money is saved while providing excellent customer service.

Why is volunteering important to you?

I wanted to give back to local community.  I feel that sometimes the assistance that is available doesn’t get to the people who need it the most.

What is your life motto?

Enjoy everyday since you will not know which day will be your last.
