Cara Przybylowicz joined our team in August. She brings ample experience in everything nonprofit volunteer-related. She will manage our volunteer efforts and ensure our volunteers have a meaningful and fun experience.

We caught up with Cara for a Q&A

What were you doing before coming to Second Harvest?
Previously, I worked for Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery and Delaware counties as the Volunteer Manager for five years. I grew the opportunities to include multiple programs and events.

What does your job entail?
At Second Harvest, I work with all of the volunteers for pack days, and on a day-to-day basis. I currently oversee the entire volunteer program for all of Community Action.

Why do you love volunteers?
Volunteers are the lifeline of nonprofits. They keep us going, and they are so passionate. Volunteers give up their time to help others, and typically, those are the people that you want on your side – willing to help anyone!

What is your favorite part of your job?
Getting to meet and spend time with all of the different volunteers that come through the agency! I love being able to create connections with the people!

What volunteer opportunities are available at Second Harvest?
We have SUNShine Box Packs 2-3 times per month, and we have MilitaryShare packs once per month.

How can people learn more or sign up to volunteer?
People can sign up to volunteer through our Volunteer Local site here: https://caclv.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/

What do you like to do when you are not at work?
When I’m not working I love spending time with my fiancé, family, and friends! I also have a crafting business.

What is your life motto?
It is what it is! I think that everything happens for a reason, and you shouldn’t dwell on things. Live your best life, and chase the best version of yourself.
