Hunger Action Month

September is Hunger Action Month, a national initiative coordinated by Feeding America, America’s largest network of hunger relief organizations. Second Harvest is a member of Feeding America along with over 200 regional food banks across the nation.

Want to get involved and become a hunger advocate?

Take action by taking an Empty Plate Selfie – find a paper plate, scribble what you couldn’t do on an empty stomach and post a photo to social media with #HungerActionMonth. Tag @shfblv to join the conversation. Post by post, our community will become more aware of the hunger in our backyard.
