Second Harvest Food Bank of Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania encourages the local community to join Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations. Giving Tuesday, a campaign formed in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y in New York City, encourages philanthropy and celebrates generosity worldwide. This fall, teams of architects, engineers, contractors, designers, and students will design and build incredible structural works of art made entirely of canned food. Second Harvest was honored to be included in the Valley Preferred Cycling Center’s Series of Bicycling event on Friday, July 28th. Patrons were admitted to the velodrome for free with the donation of a non-perishable food item for Second Harvest. Our team had a blast talking with guests about what Second Harvest does in our community. It was a nice night to watch the races, too!

You can make a difference in the lives of your neighbors by participating in the 25th annual National Association of Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on May 13th.
