Summer can mean hunger for our kids.
School’s out and that means fun in the sun and time at the shore for many of us. But, for the 75,583 children in Second Harvest’s six-county service area who receive free and reduced price breakfast and lunch at school each day, summer can be a season of hunger.
Each week during summer vacation, when children don’t have access to school meals, parents must provide an extra ten meals per child. Many of these families are already struggling to make ends meet and turn to our food pantries in their time of need. Second Harvest provides the food to fill the gap and you can help us!
Your contribution means so much. With every dollar contributed to Second Harvest, we are able to provide enough food for seven meals for our neighbors in need. Your generous support will help us distribute the food our families need to have a healthy and hunger-free summer. Click 'Donate' to give today!
